Kedarnath town is located in the Himalayas. The temple gate is open now from May to October is the best time to visit Kedarnath. During winter, the town closed due to heavy snowfall.

Taxi service is available from Haridwar and Rishikesh to Gaurikund. Gaurikund is the last road stop before Kedarnath.
